In 2013, attorney Peter Petersen received his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). He earned his law degree from the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV in 2016, attending school on an academic scholarship.
Prior to graduating law school, Petersen worked as a law clerk at De Castroverde Law Group (DLG). Previous positions held by Petersen included serving as a judicial extern to the Honorable Judge Jeffery L. Romig, U.S. immigration court, law clerk for in-house legal counsel at GeoTek, Inc. and intern at Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval’s southern office, all while attending school.
During his two years clerking for DLG, Petersen gained experience in the litigation process of insurance bad faith, premises liability and motor vehicle wreck cases. That experience allowed him to hit the ground running as an associate with the litigation team. He has also worked on several immigration matters while at DLG, in addition to his work while at the U.S. immigration court.
Petersen is a member of the Nevada Justice Association and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He is fluent in Spanish and was a missionary in Sinaloa, Mexico for two years prior to attending college.
